Fire Horizon is a portfolio tracker built around one question: when can I retire, and am I on track? Most retirement tools are planners you keep up to date by hand, or trackers that show you a balance without saying what it means. This is both — your real holdings, priced daily, with the FIRE math running on top of them.
Subscriptions. That is the whole model — there is a free tier that is genuinely usable, and paid plans that raise the limits. We are not paid by any brokerage, we take no commission on anything you hold, and we do not manage money.
This is worth stating plainly because the most popular free retirement tools are funded differently: several are the front door to a wealth-management business, which is why using them tends to be followed by a phone call. We have nothing to sell you but the software, and we do not sell or share your financial data.
A tool that tells you the year you can stop working should be willing to show its work. Every formula behind Fire Horizon — the FIRE number, the projection, the Monte Carlo model, the withdrawal strategies, how holdings are derived from your transactions — is written up in full, including the limitations.
We are not financial advisors, and nothing in Fire Horizon is financial advice. Nobody here is a licensed advisor or planner, and we do not hold ourselves out as one. What the app produces are projections — arithmetic run on the assumptions you supply, which is a useful thing to look at and a poor thing to obey.
Markets do not repeat on schedule, and no simulation makes a forecast true. For decisions with real consequences — taxes, Roth conversions, when to claim Social Security — talk to a professional who can look at your whole situation.
